A visa is not required for a stay of up to 90 days. Traveler must be in possession of a passport valid for 6 months beyond stay and a round-trip airline ticket. A visa may be required if trip purpose is other than basic business meetings.

Minors:
Effective October 1st, 2014, South Africa will enforce new regulations for adults traveling with minors. Parents traveling with accompanying children will be required to carry the children’s certified or unabridged birth certificate. If children are travelling with a guardian, this adult must also carry affidavits from both parents giving permission for the children to travel. They will also need copies of the passports of the parents, as well as the contact details of the parents.

Children travelling with only one parent, in addition to the birth certificate, must produce one of the following: (1) an affidavit from the other parent granting permission for the child to leave the country; (2) a court order granting full parental responsibilities and rights or legal guardianship; (3) if applicable, the death certificate of the other parent registered on the birth certificate.

Photo Requirements:
Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/white background.

OR - you can upload a passport photo to the Global Service Order Form when you place your order, instead of providing physical passport photos.

Other Forms:
Certified or unabridged birth certificate.

Proof Of Departure:
Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or travel agency or copy of airline tickets.

Criminal Record:
FBI Clearance for all applicants 18 years of age or older.

Minors:
Applicants under the age of 18 must provide a certified or unabridged birth certificate, proof of physical address and contact number of the adult person residing in South Africa, who is acting or has accepted to act as the learner's guardian, including a confirmatory letter from that guardian, and proof of sufficient financial means available to the student while in South Africa.

Medical Requirements:
Medical Certificate Form B1-811 (Signed by doctor with an office stamp).

Radiological Report (signed by doctor w/ office stamp) or Tuberculosis Test result.
Washington DC only: Both the Radiological Report and the Tuberculosis Test result are required.

Financial Requirements:
Proof of financial means in the form of bank statement or notarized letter from the parents stating financial responsibility.

Other Requirements:
An official letter from the institution confirming provisional acceptance and duration of the course or an official letter of provisional enrollment from the institution of learning concerned.

Special Instructions:
A repatriation deposit of $1500.00 in case of all applicants studying in South Africa for one year or more. Important: the applicant must keep the money order receipt, the deposit will not be returned by the South African Consulate without the receipt. Travisa will not be able to provide a copy of this receipt if lost.

Global Service Order Form:
This is Travisa's service order form, where you will provide your contact and shipping information, choose the visa processing needed and make your payment. You must print the completed form and send it to Travisa with all other supporting documents.
